Project Life Marathon Training - Week 14

We were looking forward to an easy weekend... only 14 miles. Haha, it's all relative! Even though it was only 14 miles, Cheryl and Chris had a hard time. I think the marathon training is getting to everyone... and we have 20 miles to run next weekend! YIKES!

Oh, and I fixed my camera... all I had to do was reset the display. Life's GOOD :oD

12 Tags of Christmas

Welcome to the April edition of the 12 Tags of Christmas!

Here is the link to Tim's post for April....

And here is my fourth Christmas tag of 2013. I tried getting the patina effect using Ranger Distressed Paints in Gold (since I don't have any ink). It is shimmery, but kind of hard to see in the picture. I also stamped the holly leaves from PTI on a transparency for dimension.

New Glasses!

Well, here they are... the new glasses!
From playing with the online website, I decided that I like the half frame style on me. So here we have the before and after pictures:

And look they're PURPLE with FLOWERS and BLING! STYLIN', hahaha!!!

Cheryl got new glasses too. Here's her before and after. She wanted something with bigger lenses that would make her look smart. Doesn't she look BRILLIANT, ;oD

We have a short run tomorrow... only 14 miles this weekend. Hahaha! It's all relative...

Project Life Marathon Training - Week 13

Five weeks and counting until the marathon! We split up again this week for the long run... 18 MILES!!! Cheryl didn't feel like going on Saturday, so Chris and I went without her. We went to Doheny Beach and then up the San Juan Creek trail to Rancho Capistrano. It wasn't too bad running-wise. Unfortunately, I stumbled on the uneven planks of the bridge. My ankle felt fine during and after the run, but today it hurts.

Today, I dropped Cheryl off at Cook's Corner so that she could run all downhill to Aliso Creek. She had a GREAT run!

Here's my layout for the week. No pictues... my camera is broken :o(

It's Card Kit Time!!!

Welcome to the Club Mojo April card kit reveal! We have 10 ladies in the club this year... 10!!! These are all wonderful ladies who I've had the good fortune to meet at Scrappin' Mojo. Wait until you see all the talent and inspiration!

It's time for our Club reveal. This month's kit was put together by Mara! This adoreable kit makes me think SPRING:

The first thing I created was an album using a Michael's frame. I saw it posted on Heidi Swapp's blog last week:

Here are some close ups:

Since I had some pretty paper left, I made a couple of cards and a tag too!

Here's the first card. I made it for my neighbor's daughter's baby shower next month. And if you can't tell... it's a girl!

Here is a cute little card that I made using book paper... Japanese book paper:

And lastly, a little tag using a cute sentiment from Mara's kit:

That's it for me this month! Be sure to checkout the creations from the other ladies:

Project Life Marathon Training - Week 12

Six weeks until the marathon... SIX WEEKS! We were supposed to do a 16 mile run this weekend. We tried on Saturday, but only finished 4 miles before we went home. Chris's new shoes were hurting him and his foot was swollen. It's nothing that a little ice didn't fix up. We did our 16 miles on Sunday...4 miles Saturday + 16 miles Sunday = 20 mile weekend.

Things to remember for a long run... Eat for staying power. As Cheryl found out, Pop-tarts are not good running fuel. Chris found out that one bottle of water is not enough for a 16 mile run. I found out that it would have been a good thing to take an Aleeve BEFORE running.

We'll take what we learned and hopefully next week's 18 mile run will go smoothly.

New Glasses

This is the week Cheryl and I have eye exams, and possibly, new glasses. I cannot believe how exciting this is for me. I never liked wearing glasses, but now they are more of a style statement. Unfortunately, I don't have much of a style, so picking out the best frames is hard for me. I found a fun online site that lets us try on glasses. We just upload a photo and click on some frames. What do you think?

Here is the site, if you want to shop for your own glasses. It's TONs of FUN! We found that it's easier to pick frames for each other than for ourselves. Why is that?...

We'll see what we end up with this week.

Project Life Marathon Training - Week 11

Cheryl did a mud run this weekend with her friend. We had such great plans to run 16 miles at Irvine Lake, but there main trails were all taken by the mud run. We tried running along the little rough/rocky trails, hit dead ends, had to back track, got turned around, couldn't find cell signal... it was a rough run. We only finished 12 miles, so we are pushing the 16 mile run to next weekend.

Project Life Marathon Training - Week 10

I can't believe that it's April already! WEEK 10!!! The marathon will be here in just two short months...

This week's card is a picture of my kids running under the 5 fwy. I left the picture with the saying this time because I think it's a good generic picture. To get the free card this week, click on the image below!
